Mila's story (Operation Christmas Child 2010)
This year The Heiskell School is once again participating in Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan's Purse. Look for information in your child's folder and in this week's newsletter giving you instructions on how to pack a shoebox and the type of items you may purchase.
I have packed a Christmas shoebox for the last several years. Last year my husband and I each chose to pack a box, one for a boy and one for a girl. We went shopping together and found gifts for our shoeboxes. At church we heard a story about someone writing a letter in a Christmas shoebox for a boy. When the boy received the box with the letter, he wrote back to the family saying that he was an orphan. To make a long story short, the family who packed the shoebox ended up adopting this little boy.
